The general public is aware of the MTV show “Girl Code”, however, most are not as aware of the show’s predecessor “Guy Code.” “Guy Code” premiered in 2011 and “Girl Code” premiered in 2013, technically making Girl Code a spinoff of “Guy Code.”
This sets up a battle of the sexes: Girls Code vs. Guy Code. Girl Code ha the hype and notoriety, and Guy Code has the seniority. Last year, Girl Code came to SSU for “What She Said” and the packed Twohig Gym laughed from start to finish. This year, on April 28th at 9 PM Twohig will be packed once again for the men of Guy Code’s “Man Cave Monologues”.
“Guy Code” is a show that features male athletes, entertainers, comedians, actors, and more to discuss the code of conduct that exists between men. The show’s set up is similar to “Girl Code.” The show also has a blog that supplements the content on “Guy Code.” Two additional spinoffs are in production: “Guy Code Court”, a fake court setting to hear guy code violations, and “The Hook-Up”, a dating show hosted by “Guy Code” star Andrew Schulz.
WHO WILL WIN THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES?
Girl Code has the notoriety, and is considered a franchise
On September 26, 2012, MTV2 announced that Guy Code’s second season delivered the highest rated and most watched original series in MTV2 history.
